The Happy Hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility situated high above Kalamar Bay just 5 minutes drive from the charming fishing village of Kalkan on the south west coast of Turkey. Blessed with spectacular panoramic views, this is a great hotel for couples and families offering traditional Turkish hospitality and 50 attractive rooms in various sizes spread over 6 buildings, stylishly furnished with modern amenities. Guests to the Happy Hotel can enjoy Kalamar Beach by taking a steep walk downhill through the sunbathing platforms set into the rocks with sea access. Dalaman International Airport is 130 km from the hotel.
Local Tips: Kalkan Village has a beautiful backdrop of the Taurus Mountains with a quaint historic harbour famous for its fresh fish. There is also a selection of specialty shops selling jewellery, crafts and clothes. A Dolmus (buses) service runs on a regular basis to the towns of Kas and Fethiye.

FACILITIES:Food, drink and entertainment: Bed and Breakfast hotel. There is an Indoor /Outdoor Restaurant, Vitamin Bar, Pool Bar, Terrace Bar, spacious lobby with magnificent view of the Kalamar Bay, recreation lounge with 54 inch color TV and Home Theatre System.
Sports, games and activities: Semi-Olympic swimming pool, sauna, large open air Jacuzzi, fitness center with a stepper, two treadmills, and two exercise bikes, children's playground, table tennis, billiards and darts.
Additional: Reception with friendly and helpful staff, car park, meeting room equipped with wide screen plasma display and other technical products, business corner with internet access, private parking, 24 hour room service, laundry service, doctor and baby sitting on request, shoe shine. It is a 1 hour 30 minute transfer from Dalaman airport, 5 minute drive to Kalkan town centre or walking distance 1 km to Kalkan, and a 5 minute walk to Kalamar Beach. A free shuttle to and from town is available at least three times a day.

The Happy Hotel features 50 guestrooms in 6 separate buildings including 22 Standard rooms, 10 Deluxe rooms, 8 Garden Suites and 10 Terrace Suites. All the spacious rooms have air conditioning, remote controlled color television, 24 Satellite channels with FM radio reception, Internet access (requires a PC computer or Mac computer with Ethernet port), direct dial phone, mini bar, safety deposit box, balcony or terrace, en suite shower and WC with hairdryer, addressable fire alarm system are some of common features in every room. The vast majority of rooms have magnificent sea views.

hotel was 25 minutes walk from the centre and would be difficult for peolpe with reduced mobility.
The breakfast was good.
The room was spacious, linen is in need of a replacement, bed linen and towels were off white and were on occassions delivered damp. ( may have been due to severe storms and difficulty with drying)
The hotel was more of a 3 star rather than 4 but holiday enviroment was relaxing.

“ Loved the Happy Hotel. In our room we had a super king size bed, TV with movie channels and a small fridge. The shower was quite good and shampoo and shower cream were provided. Clean towel were provided daily also pool towels. There was a fantastic view from the sunbeds over looking Kalamar Bay. Staff were very friendly and help you in any way they could. Only ate in the restaurant 1 evening it was quite good buffet style. We walked into Kalkan every evening very pleasant it takes about 20mins. Will definately return.

This is the second year I have stayed at the Happy Hotel and as before was made to feel very welcome (and the views are to die for)- the staff are all really friendly and helpful - we were even invited to the evening reception of the wedding of Bahri (the barman) and his beautiful bride (along with 1,200 guests from their village) - what an honour.
Although the Hotel is quite a walk from town (about 20 mins)there are a few restaurants and bars to help you on your way .Once in town there are 209 restaurants (80 of them on the rooftops - a food lovers heaven)

Top Tip:
Can highly recommend Pasha cocktail bar which is on route to town - an ideal pitstop on the way in or out!
Would also highly recommend Kalamaki restaurant right in the centre of town their food is to die for and the service and view on the rooftop is superb.
Patara beach is a short bus ride away and goes on for miles! well worth a visit.

“ Friendly staff and lovely pool. Nead to be quite fit if you wish to walk anywhere as there are plenty of steep hills to climb, especially if you wish to walk down to the sea. Lots of lovely restaurants but not many within walking distance but the hotel runs a shuttle bus which takes you to the centre and only takes 5 minutes. Did book a room with a sea view but did not get it which was disappointing but the room was clean and comfortable, slightly dated and not very big but more than adequate. We had a great holdiay and Kalkan is a lovely place and the weather was brilliant.
“ Top Tip: Hotel Kalube, 10 minute walk away, is great if you want to spend a day by the sea and they are very welcoming, only snag is the walk back up the hill but worth it. The local bar/restaurant, out of the front of the hotel then first left and just a little way down the hill, is well worth a visit if you don't want to go far.
