we have stayed at the Samira a few times. It is very, very clean. The room this time was small and the bathroom was tiny. It was much better in an appartment, lots more room. There is lots of noise from the bar during the evening and one night this went on till after 3am so be careful where your room is as you will have no sleep till the bar closes at whatever time people give up drinking !!!
The staff were giving announcements about not fetching any food or drink into the hotel from outside and they had the right to confiscate anything..i think not. A bottle of water in hotel 3.50 lira..outside 0.99 lira.. daylight robbery i think !!! Beer 6.50 lira..outside at the Meydam 3.90 Lira !!! Average price 5 lira for a beer.
“ Top Tip: There are lots of restauants in Kalkan. Value for money Chillies, Meydam and the Meckez all whithin a short walk from the Samira. The Kaya has a resident magician who also does balloon art for the children. Patara beach is a lovely day out you can get a Dolmus opposite the taxi rank to here or Kas without having to walk up the steep hill to the bus station. the man there phones and the dolmus runs down for you.

“ it is the 5th time that we have stayed at samira it was marred this time by the fact that on our last day the hotel were preparing to close for the season and it was cleaned and stripped around us. There were approx 15 people still staying there and we had no facilities to eat or drink as the bar and snack area were stripped, sun beds removed floors cleaned as we sat!! As we were the last people to leave ( 5 past midnight ) we could only sit in the reception with out any drinks or comfort( we had an 8 year old with us ). We will stay at Samira again but not at this time of year. The hotel is clean and well presented and the staff are 2nd to none. If only the owner allowed them to have an extra day to clean.
“ Top Tip: All the bars and restaurants are of a high quality. We have never had a bad meal in Kalkan.
