“ fantastic location. amazing views. very quite in october. bar staff friendly , made a big effort to speak english. the meals were turkish. no entertainment when we were there. probably a bit out of the way for sight seeing. it seems to be a hotelrtouring-a day or two stop off. we ejoyed our stay and made several local bus trips to the nearest harbour village, about 15 minuits.

“ the hotel is built on a hillside so lots of small steps everywhere no problem for us as we asked for a room near to the resturant and pool. The food was great fresh herbs used in everything, no english food though all turkish. the rooms were 3* star not 4 and generally the place could do with a makeover but for the price it was good. the AI drinks includes bottled water, beer, vodka, gin, and decent wine all soft drinks except fresh orange. we had clean towels every day, for the pool too.
“ Top Tip: Kas town/harbour is well worth a few visits day and night it is still very traditional. the taxi is 17lira and a dolmush bus 2 lira each. Kalkan town is more english but still pretty in places with a pebble beach its about 30klms away.

After reading a particularly bad new review about this hotel the night before we were due to go, from someone who had stayed there only a couple of days before, we went with some trepidation. However we were suitablly impressed.
The hotel is right at the end of the Kas peninsular so about 15 minutes out of town. Apart from a few hotels and villas there is nothing on the peninsular but, as we have been to Kas several times before, and only wanted to chill out by a pool for a few day it suited us perfectly. For those driving there is a very steep driveway down from the main gates to the hotel which can be a bit hairy so take it carefully.
There are several hotel buildings scattered around the gardens and we were allocated a room in 7 block. The room was dual aspect with views straight out to sea and was spacious, airy and clean. The furniture was new but basic so it must have recently had a refurb.
The salt water pool which is the hotel's main attraction was lovely, one of the cleanest we have been in with amazing views out to sea and Meis island. The flumes were both working at certain times of the day. There is also sea swimming but this is off a concrete platform on the rocks and down a long flight of steps so why bother when you have a great salt water pool anyway.
We went All inclusive. The breakfast was good and lots of it but no juice. If you wanted fresh orange it was extra. The evening meals were ok, soup, a choice of 3 mains (mainly Turkish - one chicken, one lamb, onve veggi) lots of mezes and salads and 3/4 dfferent desserts. We never had lunch in the restaurant so cannot comment on this but used the pool snack bar every day and this was one of the best all inclusive snack bar menus that we have come across - even better than the 5 star ones at Antalya. As it was September there was no entertainment so after dinner we tended to have a few drinks at the pool bar then off to bed. You could always drive into Kas for the night but then you have to do the drive back to the hotel and down the steep driveway in the dark!
The staff at the pool bar and restaurant were very friendly but the reception staff did not have much English. Fortunately our Turkish was good enough to get by.
Although listed as a 4 star hotel, I would rate this as 3 to 3.5 star.

“ Excellent views, food, atmosphere and service. Good mini disco even for older children. Evening entertainment was good but started quite late. More information would be useful on arrival from the reception staff and was a little bit difficult to communicate with them. As vegetarians, good variety of salads, soups and on the snack menu offering pizza, chips etc. Pool entertainment was fun and worth staying there. Lots of steps but manageable.
“ Top Tip: Would recommend the jeep safari, fun packed day for around 20 pounds. Kas market on Fridays, well worth a visit.

Location to die for but hotel has good and bad points. Apparently the management are gradually renovating the rooms but the one-bedroom family room that we stayed in was a bit tired and had a number of problems (fridge that wouldn't close, broken shower surround, outside light broken etc). It was relatively large though, had all the furniture we needed, a great balcony and air-con that we didn't have to pay extra for! It was cleaned (with fresh towels) every day and in view of all this, for what we paid I was happy to put up with the other problems.
The pool area is nice with plenty of beds and the kids enjoyed the flumes immensely. The restaurant and bar areas are also nice but I'm sorry to say that the evening entertainment was dire.
Food was generally good and there is plenty of it but it would probably have started to feel a bit repetitive by the end of our fortnight had we not gone into Kas for dinner on a few occasions. Prices in the bar are a bit steep (£3 a beer, £15+ for a bottle of local wine, £1.50 for a can of Coke) for Turkey but still better than at home.
Staff were polite and friendly but the standard of english varied widely and we had a few misunderstandings with drinks and things but can't complain as my Turkish isn't up to much!
Overall, if you want a hotel full of english people, want english food, don't like steps, are Health and Safety conscious or just plain fussy then this isn't the hotel for you. If you're the sort of person that sees the positives in a situation then give it a try and hopefully you'll enjoy you're saty as much as we did.

Top Tip:
Great restuarant towards the back of the harbour - Sultan Garden - great food which is very reasonably priced. We went twice!
Batin Boat Tours Island tour from Kas harbour with Captain 'Garlic' Ali. Was a great day out for the whole family and very reasonable at about £22 per person with fresh fish (or chicken) lunch and snacks.
Get a water taxi to Nuris beach club for a lazy day out.
