Aqua Princess Hotel

“ Hotel very clean and staff could not do enough for you. we had a nice doiuble bedroom partial seaview which was fine as last minute booking.Would like full seaview next time. Last day hotel gave us a twin room to use, did not like this one vey small but maybe they just use for departures. Hotel close to centre of kas which is lovely, very uncommercial H. el sunbathing area adjacent to hotel, with beach bar. Swimming pool clean and near bar.Hotel close to beach. Beach pebbley did not bother us. Hotel food was very good we were half board but did eat out also which was reasonable All told we would go back to Kas as lovely resort and peope very friendly.

“ As Kas is very hilly we chose The Aqua Princess for its seafront location and proximity, for an easy walk to all amenities. We knew the hotel didn`t have a lift, so we requested a first floor room. When we arrived we were presented with a key stating a 3rd floor room. Although aware that special requests may not always be possible, we decided to query this...and yes...they were happy to accomodate our request. Our triple room was spacious (main bedroom with a link room with a single bed, wardrobes,`fridge and bathroom). It was rather dark, but that could have been because of the exceptionally heavy rain and storm going on at the time !! After unpacking...time for an afternoon nap. When my husband got out of bed, he commented on the coldness of the floor....HOWEVER....it wasn`t just cold...it was water !! In fact the whole bedroom and part of the link-room was over an inch deep in rain water !! It had obviously had crept in through the balcony door. Contacted reception, who sent someone with a couple of towels....the chap from the bar passed by,delivering room service, and he too was shocked at the depth of the water that was now almost at the door. He rang down to reception again, and within just a few minutes we were on our way to another 1st floor room. Members of staff helped transfer all our belongings and we actually liked this room better than the first !. The only real downside was that a leather handbag was ruined...took 2 days to dry out and then left a terrible water mark. My husband mentioned it to the manager who obviously gave his apologises. Not only that....later that day, room service delivered a bottle of wine and basket of fruit. We enjoyed our trip to Kas and The Aqua Princess. We plan to visit both again in May.

“ Aqua Princess Hotel is a pleasant hotel that represents very good value for money. It is very well located just a short walk from the restaurants and bars of Kas. The rooms are plainly decorated, clean and have very good air-conditioning. The first room we were given had twin beds rather than a double but after some (rather fraught) discussion we were given a double room. I would also advise paying the extra for a sea view room and the view from the balcony is incredible. Aside from our brief altercation about our first room, we found all the staff helpful and friendly.

Aqua Princess also has a lovely sea-side area with large sofas and sun-loungers and access to the sea by a ladder - the water is beautifully clear and clean. This suited us very well as we aren't fans of sand but people after a typical sandy beach might not like it as much.

“ Top Tip: Take the dolma from the bus station to Kaputas beach. The dolma is cheap and regular and this beautiful beach is only 20 minutes drive away.

“ With so many stairs and no lift a definite "not even possible" for any with mobility problems. There is an area to swim in the sea (or the hotel pool) and the local pebbly beach is a short walk but there are no sandy beaches in this immediate area of Turkey.
Standard rooms are compact, or even smaller, but quite enough if you only want to sleep in them. If you want space to dance in your room take a family room which is far larger. Our bathroom was even smaller but the endless hot water and soft towels made up for that. Everything was spotless but not glamorous. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Food was plentiful but rather bland - obviously trying not to offend rather than to entice people to try something new. The restaurant had the most wonderful views into the harbour and old town though.

“ Top Tip: The Sunflower series of books list several local walks and the Lycian Way (long distance footpath) runs past the hotel. It is an excellent base for walkers and those seeking to explore the ancient sites of the area.

The town of Kas (pronounced Kash) has a centre and a real community; unlike rather too many Turkish seaside spots.

We thought the best Apple Tea was served at the Ada cafe on the Big Pebble Beach, 15 mins walk from hotel.
