the hotel requires updating, and it should be made more aware that the is spiral staircases in some of the rooms, which made it very hard my wife as she was recovering from a broken leg and hip, and was on crutches.
but regardless of this the hotel was very clean and staff polite. also not enough variety for the breakfast.

“ right on the sea front with its own garden area around a decent sized pool which we did not use as the warm clear sea was only a few steps away. also plenty of sun beds and umbrellas in this garden which avoided the need to spent 15 TL a day for the beach sunbeds. a plethora of restAURANTS ALONG THE PEDESTRIANISED BEACH which did not hassle you to come in, although they did tend to greet you but in a friendly way. rooms in the hotel were maybe a liitle cramped but you do not stay in them apart from changing and sleeping and the bed was not that well upholstered but plenty of hot water, decent towels and sheetsa nd the air con was efficient, Fair breakfast too but OJ was weak, far better to get this freshly squeezed elsewhere. All in all fantastic value

Top Tip:
Do go on one of the boat trips. Either 12 island or blue bays but spend a couple of pounds more to guarantee a smaller boat. Go to the Calis boat Co-op by the bridge.

“ Otel Area is a great low cost hotel. Staff excellent and very friendly. Clean towels everyday and decoratively presented sometimes with flowers. Rooms of a good standard and because of the layout of the hotel most have a view of the sea and pool and the mountains to other rooms. Position couldn't be better as far as restaurants and the 'prom' is great for people with walking difficulties. We love the Area and all the staff and would go back time and time again.
“ Top Tip: The beach which is shingle is only a few foot steps away and can be seen from most rooms.

“ The hotel room although quite small had a largish bathroomm with a fantastic shower cubicle. Both the sheets and the towels were changed every day and the room was kept clean. The only complaint we had was the warddrobe hanging space was almost none existent. We got around this by hanging the clothes on the TV bracket.There is a large pool and there was always sunbeds available even though the hotel was full.The hotel is right on the beach promenade with a pleasant well stocked outdoor bar. The prices were on a par with the rest of the resort. Bottle of Efes 5 lira, local spirit and mixer 7, branded spirit and mixer 10. The breakfast is basic but was enough to put my wife and I on until lunch. We were on B&B but a lot of the guests were also having evening meals which look to be quite good. We were there July 2010
“ Top Tip: You will see on the river water taxi's to Fethiye for 5 lira. It is well worth the trip. When crossing the river keep your eyes peeled on the river. We were fortunates enough to occaisionally see snakes. I am a fisherman so know the difference between eels and snakes. (Head out of the water breathing air)
