Grand Onder Hotel

“ Hotel is getting tired and is in need of some investment.

“ Very quiet. Great views from rooms with seaview. Ones at rear of hotel have no outlook at all. Very steep incline to hotel from Main road. Definately NOT for people with mobility problems or youngsters in pushchairs.

“ Top Tip: Good restaurants on main road into Town

“ The hotel family rooms had recently been upgraded and were of a very good standard. Apparently,we were told,the Hotel is due to close for a period this winter to upgrade all other rooms to match the family rooms.
Found the hotel clean with the chambermaids, waiters and reception staff helpful and polite. It could be difficult making yourself understood, but with patience, could be overcome.
Food was a reasonable quality and always a choice.
3 mins away was a regular domus service, with taxi available near also. 10 mins to the centre.
Minuses, a bit of a walk up hill to get to the hotel and the common toilets near the swimming pool were better avoided because the floor was always wet and area smelt. However, the common toilets near the reception desk were always well maintained.
Access to computers were a benefit along with DVD's to borrow.
Whilst we had a plumbing problem in our room for 36 hours resulting in a temporary move, the manager and his reception staff were really customer orientated, which enhanced our overall stay. I would go back.

“ Top Tip: 10 minutes away is areally good supermarket by the harbour. If you want a day on a small boat visiting bays, with families or turkish youngsters, beside the supermarket there are three such boats doing slightly different trips. Whilst more expensive than the trips advertised elsewhere, it is worth it. The boat trip I took was run by three brothers,who were pleasant and good fun.

“ Hotel Grand Onder was suitable for our requirement. Located to the north end of Kusadasi away from the main hub of noise shops and traffic this hotel is situated on a hill and after light negotiation it offers stunning views, even from the pool level. Anyone deciding to stay is advised to request a sea view they will not be disappointed.

There are a few local restaurants which have established around the few hotels that exist in this region. Nevertheless, the food and beverage at Grand Onder is delightful and "affordable" .

A one Km walk (or if preferred frequent dolmus's) heading south will bring any holiday maker into an array of restaurants some existing by the marina. Further along the main road which also branches off will bring holiday makers to the "hub" on both sides of the branch.

I would recommend Grand Onder to any wishing to stay in Kusadasi. Note this isn't an Hilton or international chain resort style hotel but a good family style well run, clean hotel.

“ Top Tip: There is a very nice restaurant 50m down hill from Grand Onder that mainly specialises in fish but also local dishes are available from the menu. Dolmus's are frequent and will take visitors to the centre or where every one pleases the driver to stop on route. Onder is suitable for journey to two large water theme parks less than 20mins away by dolmus which pass on main road at foot of hill from Grand Onder. Access to other beaches i.e Kuster beach (heading towards theme parks), Ladies beach in opposite direction. It could be said Grand Onder is in a suitable location to serve those destinations.
