Although you had warned us before our booking that one of the hotel pools would be shut due to renovations we weren't expecting most of the hotel to be under renovation.
To quote from our booking:
Notice:
Please note that due to renovation works one of the hotel's pools will be closed until 20th April. The clients can use the small pool which is infront of the hotel after 1st April.
Notice:
Roof Bar & Restaurant will be closed from this year on and will not re – open. The hotel has alternative bars and restaurants that guests can enjoy instead of Roof Bar: Crysantheme Beach Bar, Pool Bar, Hana Beach, Rosa Piano Bar; Coffee Shop etc.. The guests can also get their meals from the main restuarant or in A la carte Restaurants: Hana Beach Ala Carte Restaurant and Orchide Ala Carte Restaurant.
The Crysantheme beach bar, pool bar, piano bar were shut and we could only eat in the front main restaurant. We had also booked a garden/sea view but they were unable to accommodate this because the part of the hotel that gives sea views was completely shut off. We did enquire about this as soon as we had seen our room but were told that there were no seaviews available. The hotel was mostly empty. This we found very disappointing. For a five star hotel the rooms/hallways at the front half of the hotel was looking very tired (where we were given a land view overlooking other hotels). We found ourselves walking amongst renovations going on above to get from the hotel to the beach, front swimming pool.
However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and the service for breakfast/dinner was very professional and courteous. I particularly enjoyed the gym, very up to date equipment.

I would highly recommend Elegance Hotel and wiill go there again. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very hard working and very friendly.
All in all, this holiday was one to remember and it's all thanks to the Elegance Hotel.
“ Top Tip: Be aware of the night manager (Sami Hazar). He thinks he is the owner of hotel; very rude and aggressive. Does not deserve the position which he holds.

Hotel was alright, more like a good 3 star hotel. Nice set up with the two pool areas, beach and pier. Went in October and the entertainment was very limited. Had to tip to get served at the bar, and the barmen messed around like kids alot. Food was very good and the buffet area looked clean. Food was a little repeatative, no show cooking or steaks on the AI. No drinks service the tables, had to get them ourselves. No one greated guests as they went to the restaurant although they were friendly if approached.
Rooms were okay, cleaners did a limited service ie did not wipe down surfaces.
Plenty of sun beds, not much to do when it rains in the hotel or in Marmaris.
Shopping was a nightmare as the shop keepers were often very aggressive and rude if you did not go in their shop. Same for walking past bars and restaurants, everyone had to hassle you, and many became nasty if you did not go in. The hassle factor would put me off visiting the area again.

Top Tip:
The local buses were brilliant, very cheap, frequent and easy to use. The drivers want to pick you up and will stop if you wave them down. You pay on board once you are ready to!
To avoid hassle, go past on a bike or pretend you speak an unusual language.
