Voyage Sorgun Hotel

“ My partner and I have just returned home after a Christmas break at this so called 5 star hotel. I would just about give it a 3 star rating.
We read all the reviews before going, so were looking forward to a fabulous break, unfortunately our expectations were dampened from the moment we arrived. We booked into a bungalow as recommended by other holiday makers. The bungalows were set in beautiful well kept grounds, it's a pity the bungalows themselves did not have that same finesse. They were dated, basic and nowhere of 5 star standard. My partner and I were given 2 single beds pushed together and I thought my mattress was very uncomfortable. Believe it or not, the throwover was a spare curtain that matched the one's hanging at the window which did not meet, hence the spare curtain. The room lacked character and the bathroom needed lots of repairs, grouting etc. The mini bar was not restocked for 2 days and had to complain to have it refilled.
The food was okay, plenty of choice, but nothing to write home about. The service was shockingand I had to raise my voice once or twice to get served. The entertainment started off well on Christmas eve, starting in the afternoon with cakes and mulled wine and a live band in the evening. Christmas day we thought everyone had gone home as the main decorations had been taken down and the food was nothing special and the evening entertainment left a lot to be desired. I nearly nodded off at one point ha ha.
The animation team put on some sketches on boxing day evening and one in particular regarding the WC was a little obscene to say the least and should not have been shown in front of young children. They were smoking and drinking during this act which was totally unacceptable.
Our last evening was a total surprise as when we entered the dining the cheff's had gone to town on making lovely ice sculptures and were serving fresh salmon. Why this could not have been done during the christmas festivities, I do not know. The animation team did a good job that evening and made us laugh.
My final grump was the way cats were allowed to roam freely around the hotel, inside and out. I have nothing against cats, but there were hundreds and one night we saw one having a poo in a plant pot in the lobby bar.
Maybe during the summer months this hotel is fine, but I do not recommend it to anyone over the winter months.

“ Top Tip: A trip to Side and to Manavgat are a must. If you book this hotel try to get a bungalow near the beach.

“ The hotel itself was very good. The slight downside was the G Block which is used mostly for families had a smell of smoke from smokers. Apart from this cannot fault anything about the hotel and the staff were excellent.

“ Top Tip: So much to do at the hotel that we did not have time to venture out.

“ What can I say about Voyage Sorgun, it meet all our needs from the food to accommadation. Will be going again in Oct 2012.
