A Coaching Inn dating back to 1620 in the rural village of Wansford inbetween Peterborough and Stamford. 48 individually designed bedrooms, with tea/coffee making facilities, digital televison including freeview channels and broadband internet. The Orchards Restaurant is a beautiful conservatory overlooking the walled gardens and has been awarded one AA rosette for outstanding food, all fresh, locally sourced produced and presented to a very high standard. A less formal Bistro menu is available all day from 11am until 9pm. Afternoon teas served daily in the comfortable lounge with an open fire in the winter or out in the gardens throughout the summer. Complimentary WI-FI is available in the lounge and bar areas. The Haycock has rooms with character for private dining and modern purpose built meeting rooms in the business centre. The Haycock Ballroom can accommodate 240 for a dinner dance or wedding reception. Dogs are welcome in the garden bedrooms, which have patio doors opening out onto the gardens. Although the Haycock is on the A1, the rooms are not affected by the motorway traffic. There are 300 complimentary car parking spaces available.

The hotel was welcoming and the reception staff were peasant and efficient. A porter was called to escort us to our room which was roomy and well appointed. The hotel, although busy with a large wedding party, was quiet and restful. The room and surroundings were clean and well presented. There was plenty of choice at breakfast which was served promptly.
We had a most enjoyable stay and will certainly stay at The Haycock again.
