You can take a trip on the world famous Cliff Railway which transports you down to Lynmouth and its charming harbour or discover the equally beautiful Lyn River Valley and Watersmeet tea rooms. An ideal base for walkers and cyclists alike Lynton and Lynmouth allow you to discover a wealth of footpaths and trails just waiting to be explored. Chough's Nest Hotel is owned by John and Rosemary Hodges who personally run the hotel along with their three eldest daughters Victoria Kate and Helen. Exmoor National Park offers ample opportunity to go walking cycling horse riding and fishing whilst enjoying the rugged and breathtaking scenery and wildlife. There are many places of interest and heritage sites in North Devon and Somerset as well as local attractions such as the world famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway.

The large high-ceilinged rooms enjoy magnificent views as well as a roaring fire in the lounge during the winter months. Each of our nine well-appointed bedrooms have their own distinct character and charm and almost all have spectacular views out to sea. We offer king-size double and twin bedrooms or there is the four poster 'Nest' for that special occasion.

The geography of Exmoor National Park and the Lynton & Lynmouth area is notoriously hilly. The Hotel itself is set into the cliffs above Lynmouth. This means that there are a number of steps which climb up to the entrance of the Hotel. We have a handrail installed.
