The White Hart Hotel is an exceptionally unusual 16th century coaching inn. The original Tudor building has been magnificently extended to incorporate a wealth of modern facilities whilst retaining its wonderful historic character.

“ Excellent location with car parking space but the hotel itself looks very tied and is very much in need of renovation. It was okay for one night.
“ Top Tip: Lewes is very historic town with a good range of small shops and plenty of good pubs and restaurants to choose from. Also it is 15 minutes from Brighton on the train if you want to explore elsewhere

“ Room smelt off damp. Other residents had same problem. Stayed in the annex so don't know about main part of hotel. Overall rather dark and drab. Needs an overall uplift. Paid for bed and breakfast and on arrival told had to pay £5 extra for 'English Breakfast'. You get what you pay for but certainly would not stay there again.
“ Top Tip: number of public houses very close by supplying good range of real ale.

Staff were very pleasant and helpfull.
However, the room was very cold, the building itself was noisy, floorboards creaking throughout.
The room was in need of refurbishment. Taking into account the age of the building and its history the room was in poor condition with large gaps around the window, the door to the bathroom not opening easily. The bathroom was a bit grubby and could have done with a good clean. The notice regarding making sure the shower curtain was in the bath before showering was wasted as there was no shower or curtain!
Continental breakfast was limited.
Several guests seemed to have minor complaints about beakfast.

“ Polite, obliging & friendly staff. Beautiful building. Eclectic furniture making the rooms & hotel interesting & quirky. Great location. Ample parking. Downside though is the standard of cleanliness in the rooms, e.g. thick dust on pictures, carpet not hoovered, bed collapsed on one side leaving my partner with back pain! Decor worn & tired, hotel in need of a re-furb including the health suite.
“ Top Tip: Lewes is full of quirky shops, great charity shops & loads of eateries to suit all tastes. It is steeped in history & has great pubs.
