The hotel was awful; it was grubby and had the air of being unhygienic and dirty. It was all certainly very tired. The coat-hangers were missing from the room (even though they were the typical hotel ones that are no good anywhere else). Although we had booked a double room for two people there was only one set of towels and no floor mat for the bathroom.
In the end, we left and did not stay in the room except to change.
NOT recommended at all - stay away! It as not even cheap!
“ Top Tip: Absolutely nothing - horrible!

We found the hotel to be rundown and in dire need of refurbishment. There was no phone in the bedroom and to get another pillow and to get a hairdryer meant going down two floors. There was a lift but the extra walking can be frustrating for older clients. There was only one loose, ill-fitting plug in the bathroom for both bath and basin.
When I mentioned these points very calmly and politely at reception I was told that I should have read their terms and conditions on their website and nothing further added by the hotel.
The Sovereign pub restaurant attached to the hotel was expensive, impersonal and the food merely OKish.
“ Top Tip: There was a very good pub called The Lanyard a short distance from the hotel on the high street round the corner. The food was well cooked, a reasonable price and the staff very accomodating when asked to change chips for salad for example. We went back for breakfast the next morning at nine oclock and found it to be just as good as the dinner the previous evening.

“ Ideal for pre or post ferry stop off (you could hardly be nearer the cross channel terminal) but the hotel is in need of some maintenance (room door had to be slammed to be closed, missing fittings, fittings falling off in the bathroom) and the room key does not open the outer door which means waiting to be let in late at night if you've popped out for any reason.

Unfortunately there was only one bedside table beside the bed - the side that I slept on had marks to indicate that a table had been there, but it had been removed for some reason or another. The table on my wife's side of the bed was OK.
The quantities of teabags, coffee, and milk provided were somewhat sparse - we are used to having a more plentiful supply of these. which make for a more comfortable stay.
“ Top Tip: The hotel was very conveniently situated for reaching the Channel Islands ferry terminal.
