“ Clean, tidy hotel, nice location close to forest and Lyndhurst. We were actually slightly disappointed as so many reviews were so positive and our experience was very mediocre...possibly it is more suited to older guests (i.e. retired) and not young families such as ours. Most of the staff were quiet and not particularly chatty or welcoming. The breakfast was fine but no way as amazing as all the other reviews claim..unless they'e dramatically changed what they provide?!? All in all a quiet, slightly old fashioned hotel (which some people obviously like) but not for us with our young children and a taste for a bit of atmosphere...the 'suites' which are not part of the hotel are however great for families, as you have your own space and can feel free to be a bit noisy
“ Top Tip: Lovely country pub for a mid cycle stop....High Cliff Inn (I think it's called) At the bottom of a very steep hill but really nicely tucked away and lovely fresh food, big portions, space and playground for kids, middle of the forest
