Thistle St Albans continues a tradition of hospitality dating back to Victorian times, when the nearby A1 was still the Great North Road. In recent times, St Albans has enjoyed a mini-boom; in a recent version of Monopoly, it’s displaced Mayfair as the priciest property on the board.
It is one of the few hotels in St Albans City Centre popular for business meetings and other functions; we work with international event management company MotivAction to offer team-building events and activities in our spacious grounds.

“ It's very definitely a business hotel - although the adjoining rooms were suitable for our family we found the restaurant included in the BB evening meal package very limited in its range and we had difficulty finding something suitable for my youngest daughter. The breakfast was excellent but I'm sure the prices if booked direct with the hotel would have been very high, as were prices for using internet. There were also a lot of stairs and we had a very long walk to our room. Otherwise it's a great place for an overnight stay. The deal we had with Travel Republic was excellent
