The County Hotel Lytham

“ This Orchid Pubs Group hotel was formerly a Premier Inn. Sadly since the change of ownership (7/8 years before) there appears to have been little maintenance or refurbishment carried out.
The room we booked had dirty curtains (covered in toothpaste), stains on carpets, dirty net curtains, ceiling downlight not working (reported to staff), door peephole broken and loose - people could look into the room from the outside (reported to staff)!
Part of wash basin tap missing, grout on tiles in bathroom was very badly 'patched up'.
There was a wall light hanging from the wall in the stairs (reported to staff). The screws of the hinges on a fire door (in the upstairs corridor) were loose preventing the door closing fully (reported to staff).
The air conditioning immediately outside the bedrom window was noisy all night! The wall paper under the window is peeling off and the paint on the window frame has peeled off too.
The breakfast mugs and cutlery were dirty, the croissants stale and there was no boiling water to make tea.
The 'disabled' bays outsode the hotel were barely legible at night.
Probably best not to book rooms at the back of the hotel (where the a/c units are located). The building is lovely - the maintenance is very poor. The standard of cleaning poor.
