Travelodge London City Road

“ Clean, quiet and conveniently near the tube (5 minute walk) and a bus stop is directly infront of the hotel doors. Also well over a dozen eating places within the 5 minutes to the tube plus a tesco mini market. We used the buses as we found them quicker and cheaper than the tube, even allowing for roadworks.
Basic bar meals served in the evening, obviously pre-packed and only microwaved, if you can find a member of staff to take your order, reasonably priced. Large buffet breakfast, plenty of choice.
Staff are sometimes difficult to find, but are compitent if not overtly friendly. Stood at the bar and was ignored twice until called to a member of staff who then served me, but would have liked to have been acknowledged and not just walked passed until I asked if he could serve me. Early check in (before 1pm) and late check out (2pm) cost an extra £10 each. Only one bath towel for two guests in a double room. Would use again for a couple of nights stay, not for a proper holiday.

“ I have stayed in a few different Travelodges and this one was certainly the best. The accommodation is the usual Travelodge standard basic but clean and warm. However I must say that the staff in this hotel were all very pleasant and helpful which is not always the case in some Travelodges. The food was limited but good quality and the breakfast was excellent. I hope to stay here again when visiting London as the location is close to both underground and bus routes and within easy walking distance from the river and St Pauls.

“ Considering the price paid not a bad hotel, however, there was only towels for the 2 nights for 1 person.
Good breakfast and late times over the weekend. You can even take to your room, however the first day the plates were not removed from the room.
Good location, just outside of the city center but very near tube station and bus stop right outside the hotel
Very polite staff
All in all a good value break.

“ Top Tip: There is a restaurant in the hotel, this serves meals all day, although basic, very reasonably priced. Hotel bar open into the evening as well.
