“ Stayed here before, and it's always a warm welcome everytime. Only downside is it may not be suitable for the less mobile, due to the steps. Otherwise everything perfect - clean, warm & comfortable room, decent hot shower installed. Breakfast superb, with a good choice of options available (including vegetarian for those that require it) Great value for money B&B just 2 or 3 minutes walk from Sale Metrolink Station. Turn right out of front of hotel, walk to end of Broad Road & cross over at pedestrian crossing.
“ Top Tip: If you like good, inexpensive, real cask ales then visit one of the many JD Wetherspoons in the area (nearest one is Altrincham - 4 stops from Sale on the tram). However, avoid The Bishop Blaize in Stretford on matchdays - it charges just to enter the pub!!! (OK on all other days, but levies this charge everytime there's a match on). If you don't agree with this policy (like me) vote with your feet & go elsewhere. If you are here for a short break, Manchester has lots to offer. Check out The Museum of Science & Industry (nearest tram stop Deansgate-Castlefield, nearest mainline Deansgate) which is great for all ages, telling the story of The Industrial Revolution, and also has the oldest surviving railway platform in the world within it's grounds. Other places to visit include Manchester United's world famous Old Trafford stadium (nearest tram stop Old Trafford), with a bucket load of trophies to see in The Trophy Room, The Lowry (nearest tram stop Media City UK), The Trafford Centre (nearest tram stop Stretford, then board special bus), Imperial War Museum North (nearest tram stop Media City UK, or Harbour City) & the City Centre itself. There is also a tour bus which visits the main tourist attractions, whilst a guide tells you some of the history of the area (it's also available in other languages if English isn't your mother tongue).
