Room 12 was very cramped, but extremely well appointed (trouser press, iron and ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, tv with good range of channels, bedside radio/clock alarm, choice of pillows and a telephone). I presume this occurred when it was converted to en-suite. The bed was comfortable. Everwhere throughout the hotel was spotlessly clean
We stayed only BandB. The cooked breakfast was superb with a wide ranging choice of ingredients.
This was ouir second stay at this hotel and will certainly use it again whenever we need to stay in that area.

“ The hotel was quite clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Spa area was acceptable although some would consider the pool a bit small. The gymnasium was more than adequate. The approach to the hotel is on an uphill gradient and this would not suit people with walking difficulties. I do not recall seeing a lift to the upstairs bedrooms either. Dissapointingly there were no decent restaurants nearby that you could walk to. Plenty of Indian and Chinese eating places and a fish and chip shop but not the sort of place where you could go for traditional british food. Cewrtainly the hotel has its own restaurant and we did use it on the first night of our stay, but we were the only two people in the place and the lack of atmosphere tainted the enjoyment - not that I level that as a criticism of the hotel. Food was also perfectly enjoyable, as were the breakfast.
