“ Lovely, quiet location. Hotel has a hint of faded grandeur, but this is part of its charm. Good sized room with a very comfortable bed. Ensuite up three or four stairs with an avocado bathroom suite, but good quality. Excellent, professional and friendly staff in all departments. The dining room and the food are superb. Our dinner was faultless. The wine list has something for everyone. Everything about the breakfast was perfect with an extensive choice, all beautifully presented and the best fruit salad I have ever tasted. It contained at least 10 different fruits and was very fresh. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. I feel a bit bad not giving a perfect score, because it really is good and none of the 'faults' interfered with our stay. It represented good value, but some people might expect a higher standard of decor.
“ Top Tip: This hotel is in a quiet, rural location, but if you are looking for a lunch stop on the way there or back, you could do a lot worse than call in at the Boar's Head in Ripley. The castle there is also well worth a visit.
