“ This hotel was good. Quick check in, plain but well supplied room, very helpful doormen. Please note, there's no hotel parking so you pay £20 for them to take your car and park it elsewhere (otherwise I think it would be a pain to locate a secure carpark in the middle of York and lug your cases back). A continental breakfast was offered but you could pay £5 extra for cooked if desired. Location is excellent - 5 minutes away from shops, restaurants, theatre etc. Overall, I thought it was expensive and impersonal but it suited us given that we wanted to be in the heart of York. In the future, I'd probably look for something offering better value for money and with a more personal feel about it.
