Lamb And Lion Inn

“ Fantastic, quirky little hotel in a perfect location for exploring York. We stayed here for our second wedding anniversary & just wanted somewhere nice that was close to town centre so we can explore and not have too far to walk back after a night out. The bar is always buzzy & very busy, our room was on the top floor so the walk up/down the stairs was hard work but needed after filling up on the yummy breakfast. We did hear noise of an evening from the street but nothing too drastic that is stopped us sleeping!
Would also add the staff at the Lamb & Lion made this place even better all staff were very friendly, chatty & helpful - nice touch on being offered to take our bags so we could make the most of our day after we checked out as our train back home wasn't until the afternoon!
I wouldn't hesistate to recommend this hotel to others and we plan to return again in the furture!

Room very comfortable, although a little on the small side, but was very clean and with a quirky little corridor to en-suite bathroom. Would definitely stay there again. An excellent base for visiting York .

“ The staff were really helpful and food was ok,the room we had noise from the outside with people in the early hours of the morning when passing the inn, traffic passed at different intervals during the night.

“ Top Tip: The Italian Restuarant in the Shambles ' BARI' the food was excellent and a great welcome & staff.
