we were very disappointed the the request we made at the time of booking for a room at the back was not passed on to the hotel! We spent two nights in a shabby and very noisy room at the fromt. We did complain to Cromwell Lodge who claimed you did not pass the request to them!
We have stayed at this hotel many times before and usually book through an agent. This was the first time our request did not result in a room at the back. There were other problems with this particular room - it was cramped, the only way nto the double bed was by climbing over the other person or sliding down to the bottom of the bed to get in or out. The bathroom window catch was broken so you could not shut out the traffic noise - also the bathroom door would not stay shut unless you bolted it from the iside - so more noise!
