The White Horse Inn

“ The Inn itself was lovely. We arrived on a wonderful sunny day and enjoyed the outside area with our drinks. However, everything went down hill from there. Some of the beers were not available, one of them would be ready in several hours!
The bedroom was OK but very tired, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Black mould over the tiles, had to move in front of the sink to be able to close the door which you had to do to get near the toilet. Very old fittings.
The food was a compete let down. The first course was unrecognisable. The 2nd course arrived and instead of a lovely, juicy, Rib-eye steak (medium to well) I was presented with a very over-cooked, tough piece of ghastley steak which was absoultely NOT Rib-eye. The waitress disagreed with my belief and then checked with the kitchen who confirmed that they didn't have any Rib-eye so had substituted the order for Sirloin, without first checking with the customer!!!!
I was offered a replacement meal but that meant my husband would eat alone and then I would eat alone which was not acceptable.
The following morning, the breakfast was even worse. Toast that looked like white sliced bread. It had been shown a grill but had not been allowed to stay long enough to gain any colour whatsoever. The coffee was in a pre-prepared Cafetier on the side and was cold, the sausages had never seen any meat, the eggs were snotty ......need I go on.
We decided that although we had pre-booked and paid for 2 nights that our experience of one night B&B was enough so we checked out and left.
