Regent Palace Hotel

“ Though hotel is old, it was very well presented, comfortable, clean and attention to detail service provision was excellent. Room 311 on arrival smelt damp, musty, tried to open window, informed window had been secured due to water coming in ?? the problem was due to lack of ventilation, daily drawing back the curtains, condensation was running down the windows. Bathroom facilities acceptable, being 4 star - requires updating. Insufficent hangers for clothing, did provide on request. The staff very friendly, helpful, good variety of restaurants, entertainment, but preferred experiencing the outdoors. Rooftop swimming pool lovely and quiet in the main, great place to relax. Well situated for getting around - Dubai Creek and local attractions - if you enjoyed walking. My daughter, l, experienced so much on our daily walks. Transport, restaurants-excellent, reasonably priced. We loved Dubai, would we stay at same hotel again - yes, but not same room.

“ Top Tip: RO RO restaurant opposite hotel - excellent. Social house restaurant (Dubai mall) opposite Burj Khalifa - excellent. Dubai mall - amazing, the quality of shops unbelievable. Burj Khalifa tower - Top of the world, well worth a trip. Lower ground daily water fountain shows, a fantastic experience. Short route to Dubai creek, right out of hotel, follow road straight down to creek. Lovely restaurant at far end of creek - AL Ghubaiba,near financial district. Enjoyed local souks, medina great-silk purchases. People of Dubai, friendly, helpful, chatted with many locals. Not in your face. Travelling by bus, go to local railway outlet (on all 4 corners of X roads to purchase pass,buses do not accept cash. Buses divided-male/female seating, Jumeirah beach park - beautiful, great facilties, photograpy not allowed, preferred public beach next door, much quieter. To visit Burj Al Arab (SAIL) from hotel, bus C10 to Jumeirah beach,then bus 8,or taxi from beach, 3 hrs to walk.Restaurant,transport costs very reasonable. Deira well worth a visit by using traditional mode of transport across creek.

“ The location is fine if you like large shopping complexes - though personally I find them hateful. Staff were uneven - some very helpful, others very slow to respond. The service in the ground foor South Indian Restaurant was appalling - and the food - despite claims of authenticity - was at best moderate.
Tea and coffee were aweful.
The room was clean & the bed comfortable - but the water in the bathroom was never more than tepid & and the sink tap loose.
Overall, it felt as if the management needed to get a grip.

“ The hotel is located close to station and few ordinary restaurants. Rooms were very ordinary, bathrooms mouldy, handles broken, wall paper coming off the wall. Swimming pool and gym area were decent. Room service very good. But definitely hotel not worth a Four Star.

“ Top Tip: Only great thing was hotel located close to Metro station and not very far from airport.

“ i read many reviews,about hotel,some bad some good i personaly thought it superb ,great location,near metro,bus tour is right across road, a mall opposite. it is as some say slightly dated compared to the very large modern hotels ,but the staff are superb and nothings a problem,great breakfast to cater for all cultures,shops restaurants everywere,had a great stay,and would return again!!

“ Top Tip: in the middle of shops restaurants etc which are not expensive,as in the city centre
