We got to the hotel at about 10pm on the Wednesday 18th Jan 2012, when we got to the hotel we checked-in and then taken to the hotel room which was very nice for a 5 star hotel which is what you would expect.
We are a family of 4 and the hotel provided us with a King size bed and a single mattress on a metal and wood frame which looked like a bed from a student bed sit. We were not happy with the accommodation they provided us and did not expect a 5 star hotel in dubai to expect us to sleep on a matress that was not comfortable. We complained to the hotel to move us to a room which has two twin beds but they could not move us until the following day which we were not happy about.
You woulod expect the hotel to have some though behind what type of bed to provide to a family of 4. Clearly this hotel do not take this into consideration and expect you to sleep uncomfortably.

“ staff were wonderful. The only downside was the fact that you cannot sit outside under the canopys on the sofas without having a meal.We only wanted drinks but were turned away.
“ Top Tip: if you like Mexican food and great value for money go to the restaurant "On the Border" directly opposite the hotel. Huge portions and great price.

“ Nice hotel on the beach. I stayed in a deluxe room. It was very big. Nice gym open 24 hours. Free wifi in the lobby.

Top Tip:
Dubai is not designed to walk so if you plan to go to the beach better get a hotel actually on the beach, otherway may not be very easy to access. Dubai Marina is a nice walk full of restaurants at night.
I was not familiar with the following practice, not sure if is DUbai or just the hotel: when you check in they ask you for a credit card and they block a big amount of money around 100 euros per night in case there is any problem, so for 4 nights they blocked 400 euros. We received an sms frim the bank informing us of a purschase for that amount in Dubai, so we need to check now that the money is back in the account. So keep that in mind!
