Macdonald Four Season Hotel

“ Note:
We were given a free upgrade to the Highlands Hotel presumably because their complex was not busy. The Highlands Hotel was excellent with efficient housekeeping and dining staff and would recommend it.

“ Top Tip: Aviemore Centre is handy for access to mountain walking/climbing/trail walking with a variety of organised activities in the vicinity for all age groups.

“ Great value, friendly helpful staff. Idealy situated for local bars and resteraunts. Holtel was clean and very comfortable. Would stay there again.

“ Very much enjoyed our stay. Hotel decor is perhaps a little tired but that said it does not claim to be five *. The breakfast was very good, with a generous buffet, ideal before a days skiing. Overall we felt good value for money.

“ The Aviemore MacDonalds Four Seasons hotel was very clean, the staff helpful and friendly. However, it is in need of a makeover, looking rather tired and a little run down. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The bar has no atmosphere and as it is in the function suite, there was no access to it on one of the days of our visit as there was a wedding. Macdonalds are trying to sell the resort but that means a 10 - 15 min walk to go to the swimming pool then another 10 - 15 min walk to go to a hotel that has entertainment later in the evening, fine if the weather is ok.

“ Top Tip: For a great meal try Roo's leap, right on the station platform and only a five minute walk from the hotel. Also right across the road from the station is the Cairngorm Hotel. It's where the locals drink and the atmosphere is friendly and vibrant. The live entertainment is very good in the evening as well.
