not the best hotel we have stayed in but not the worst either
AA rating is 3 star and I would say this is more realistic than the 4 star from Scottish tourist board rating.
Food nice, staff variable - they were either all over you or completely ignored you. Bistro was nice food but is really a pub meal.
Room adequate, not huge but comfortable. Bathroom tiny, but a good deep bath. Shower went from roasting to freezing so we gave up. Room did smell of cooking since it was above the kitchen and window would not open to allow fresh air in.
