“ the hotel was very run down. new management had taken over on the day we arrived and therefore there was no bar open on our arrival. the room was big and the beds were comfy and clean however the lamp shades were falling off the wall, there were cracks in the wall, cigarette buds in the gutter outside the window, the hairdryer was not safety checked and the plastic case was melted, the tv had no remote control, the bathroom door did not close properly and no handsoap or shower cap was provided. the people working in the hotel were very nice and very helpful but we would not recommend anyone to stay there after our visit.

This hotel was of a very very poor standard. Things broken in room/bathroom/grubby.
Whole hotel extremely shabby and dingy and dark. Windows had gale force wind blowing through and the dining room was reminiscent of something from a school trip. We booked a meal Saturday evening and we were shown to a very strange long thin room as a function in dining room - which was through a partition - there were 3 tables in this awful room and the noise was unbelievable, we refused to eat and went down to the bar for meal there instead. The bar meal was awful and cold. Breakfast English one was freshly cooked but the waitress was absolutely clueless - she didn't tell us where anything was or explain to help ourselves to juice, coffee etc. The only papers on offer were the Irish Times!!! Just horrible sorry to say....... and unbelievably as we left a note stuck on door saying "full no vacancies" they must be short of hotels in Birmingham is all I can say.

Each of the bedrooms' offer the excellent facilities visitors have come to expect from an urban retreat. “ the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould, the bathroom bin was broken and the shower curtain had seen better days. The fixtures had been sealed with silicone and was very shabby. it was only for one night so was acceptable. the bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
