On arrival at 1 pm we were informed by reception that our room would not be available untill 3pm which was annoying as we wanted to change for going to our function. After speaking firmly to the manager he magiced a room for us (surprise surprise) basically they have very few chambermaids which makes the turn round of the rooms slow. The hotel itself is good value for money. Small slightly tired rooms but adequate for an overnighter with plenty of supplies of tea/coffee, towels and toiletries. Our TV didn't work but that was due to the previous occupants mucking up the controls. We were not on the list for breakfast and it took a call to to get that sorted. Breakfast was fine and cooked to order as they said there were not enough customers to provide it as a buffet. Full English and help yourself to drinks, toast, juices, cereals etc etc. The bar prices were surprising very reasonable 1.95 for a latte and 1.95 for a hug pot of Tea. Likewise Bar food looked good value too. Free WiFi/newspapers in public areas which did also work on the first floor as we were over reception. The only downside to this hotel is that the area between it and the centre of brum looks dodgy and as a female I wouldn't like to walk it particularly at night so the cost of a taxi 5/6 quid each time adds up and it may well be better spending that money on a hotel which is actually in the centre. I would return though if I got a good price again.

The hotel is stunning and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only downsides I can state are that our rooms were on the first floor right next to a 24hour taxi rank which kept us awake for most of the night and the mattresses weren't the most comfortable, we all said in the morning that we could feel the springs digging into our backs.
Otherwise I do really like the hotel, I would maybe ask to be on a higher floor next time or on the opposite side of the building to the taxi rank but I do think they maybe need to invest in some mattress toppers.
Overall I think it was a great experience and I would stay here again.

Poor quality. Not as pretty as the photos advertised. No hot water as well. Paid £44 for one night, but would not even pay £4 next time.
