Check-in date:

We had a nice weekend at a wedding. The rooms were clean and suitable for our requirements. The food available for breakfast was nice and plentiful. The food supplied at the wedding reception was absolutely fabulous.

The hotel was ready for a little decoration but this did not spoil our stay. There was a nice spa, swimming pool and gym but we did not have chance to try these.

I would advise that breakfast is prebooked (£10.00) as it was £15.00 if requested on the day. The drinks are also a little expensive.

Top Tip: We went to the Hare & Hound pub for a meal and this was nice, and 2 for £10.

Staff very friendly and efficent. Room although very small was clean and had everything you would expect in a hotel room. However radiator and heated towel rail did not work. There were no curtains and window blind which was water stained was half open and could not be adjusted. Staff however did provide me with a heater. I also had to have a cold shower on the final morning as there was no hot water

Top Tip: Checcos an Italian restaurant in Upper Heywood

There were a few little niggles with my room, but my stay very enjoyable. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The spa staff, bar staff, reception staff, ladies on room cleaning, all had a cheery hello and coudn't have been more helpful.

Check-in date:

A comfortable spacious hotel that was a very good venue for a wedding reception. Some of the bedrooms need a little updating and a couple of minor items fixed (eg the toilet seat was broken, drill holes in the wall not filled in). The hotel bar had a very limited choice of beer/ bottles of beer. Only one choice of flip tap plastic bitter which was undrinkable and £4 per pint!! Bottles of bitter (out of the fridge) and more choice of Lager would improve the experience of the hotel.
