Although this hotel is showing its age and could do with new furniture,(draw fronts fell of my wardrobe, table legs very wobbly in the bar) and a general spruce up I enjoyed my stay, the second in seven months.
Excellent self service breakfast, can't comment on any other meals as we ate out, good evening entertainment, plus free use of the swimming pool and steam room in the adjoining health club.
The Hotel is on the sea front with just a road and tramway to cross and travel into Blackpool is easy if you don't want to drive as there are tram and bus stops outside the hotel car park entrance, I left the car and bought a three day Blackpool transport pass from the local newsagent, valid for unlimited travel on the buses and trams, this cost £10.50 but was very convenient, no parking problems and I could have a drink with my lunch:)
Overall despite hearing some negative comments from some people, I would stay here again and will only say you get what you pay for and you get value for money here in my opinion.............

Top Tip: I would recommend eating at The Albert and The Lion pub on Blackpool sea front, also has a nice meal at The Sands in Blackpool.

We chose to stay at the Norbreck Castle as it was convenient for friends who were staying nearby. We received a warm welcome by the hotel staff who were very friendly and helpful. Our room was basic but clean, unfortunately we didn't have a sea view as I forgot to request when we booked - I would recommend asking as you may be lucky.

I used the gym on the day of our arrival - it's well equipped and more than enough for my basic needs. I did find the £2 charge to use the gym rather extreme as other hotels we have used have always had the gym facilities included. It was then quite annoying that gym staff allowed hotel guests to 'wander' around the gym to just have a nosy.

We were only at the hotel for bed and breakfast which was buffet style. There was plenty of choice from cereals to the full monty. If I'm being picky the bacon wasn't to my liking as it reminded me of the 'bargain packs' although it could have just been the way it was cooked.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitly return. The Norbreck Castle may not be one of the newest hotels around but it's a beautiful building with lots of character. Being so close to the beach was a big bonus and even in March the brisks winds didn't stop me having a walk to nearby Cleveleys for tea and a scone!

Top Tip: We had a lovely meal at Lime Lounge in nearby Cleveleys - a bargain from Groupon. The food and service were fantastic and the restaurant is both Thai and Indian so having the choice meant both me and my husband were happy.

During our stay at the hotel we was on 4th floor someone who stayed there vandalized the lift on the second floor so we had to walk down the stairs which was not easy due to I have had recentley a total knee replacement and it was difficult for me. we then went out for the day to return and find that the lift had not been repaired there was no way that I could get back up to the room due to very painful knee. before we went out I spoke to a girl on reception but she was not much help to us on the evening when we returned to the hotel after our day out I spoke to a porter who was on the desk and told him there was no way I could get up to our room due to pain of the knee . he kindly give us a room down stairs. We stayed in this room for the night but the room was not very good the lighting was very dull and no nice view so I asked if they had got a better roon in the morning we was then moved to a room on the first floor the other end of the building which was ok. then we had to get all our stuff out of the fourth floor room by the time we done this our day was nearly over. This was a special time as my nephew was celabrating his 50th Birthday we only had a few days there which was spoiled due to all this so we both came home feeling very disapointed by all this that happend .

Check-in date:

I have stayed there before, so knew what to expect. This visit fine. I had a nice double bedroom (altho' only paid for single) - very quiet on my floor (the 2nd). There were nearly 1000 people in the hotel so all in all they do very well catgering for that number. No problem for me, but the receptionist told everyone to collect their keys on check in at 1530. Absolute bedlam, as you can imagine, with all that number checking in. I played it safe and went for my key at 1630 when the numbers had died down. It is rather far out from the centre of Blackpool where it is all happening. But excellent service by Black Cabs, who have a free phone in the hotel. I think for what we paid, we had very good service and will stay there again. Thankyou for asking.........
