“ 4 star........NO WAY! We were put in a room that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the hotel having a no smoking policy! We were moved to another room which had no hot water and we had to walk down the corridoor to another room to take a shower! The only good thing about this hotel was the reception staff who were polite and helpful.

“ Good location if you are on a stag or hen do. very noisy at night and did not settle down till around 3am! Hotel is tired and fairly basic. Clean but not special and expensive for it! Don't think I would stay there again. Staff ok.
“ Top Tip: Hotel du vin and pub du vin

“ Our room was very poor - it had a musty smell when we entered and even though we opened the window to let in fresh air, it still smelled. The paper was coming away from the ceiling, there were large stains on the ceiling and the window frames were disgustingly filthy. There was a huge pile of dirty towels in the hallway as we got out of the lift after we'd booked in and they were still there when we booked out!! Although we complained when we were booking out, we weren't offered any redress or even the opportunity to speak to a manager - we will definitely never go there again. We could have booked a Premier Inn for half of what we paid and been infinitely more comfortable.

Positives - location is good, close to the beach and to The Lanes. Also the staff were generally friendly and helpful.
Negatives - can be noisy, it's a mystery why the windows are single-glazed. Also the restaurant evening meal was poor for a 4 star hotel.
“ Top Tip: Try the Chili Pickle bistro in The Lanes for good Indian food in a friendly atmosphere.
