Top Tip:
We were expecting a boutique style hotel, sadly the bedrooms let the hotel down. More like premier inn style decor. The breakfast staff dont seem to know what they are doing, and do not seem to be confident in their actions. I asked for a veggie cooked breakfast, so no sausage or bacon but extra mushrooms and baked beans please-no- one button mushroom, desert spoon of beans, one egg and half a tomato,-child size portions at £13 -very poor value. The waitress who took our order did not have a very good command of English, so I think this is where the problem arose. The second day was better but had to ask for beans. We were bought toast well before our cooked breakfast so it was cold when we wanted to eat it. A waiter then came and put two breakfast down on an empty table, these were then correctly placed. The plates were cold and the breakfast lukewarm & fried eggs hard. Nice to have ham and cheese choice.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Would be nice to have paper and magazines around but could find nothing, even in the upstairs lounge room. Very clean, good position but I wouldn't stay again unless the prices are greatly reduced.

“ Absaloutly lovely!! Not really geared up for children, bit too cosmopolitan for that!! Fab location, best staff ever!! Very friendly and very helpful!!
“ Top Tip: there is an excellent mexican restaurant just through the 'stone gate'! Try the tiger prawns, but order extra bread at the time, they warm it to order, so takes a while!!

“ The hotel itself is beautiful. Ideally located on the highstreet of Canterbury. Staff were very professional and impeccably dressed. The champagne bar had lovely cocktails and a nice atmosphere.We also visited the the brewery for lunch which was also very nice although the clientele appeared to be mainly elderly people. The room wasn't that special even though quite expensive, but taken on the whole I think it was value for money.
“ Top Tip: Canterbury is a lovely place with loads of little streets and full of bars and restaurants. The hotel is right on the high street so no need to travel anywhere, althoughthat does mean that you will need to be a sound sleeper.

The Best Western Abbots Barton hotel has been recently refurbished and is located only 10 minutes walk from Canterbury Cathedral theatres and shops yet has ample free car parking.Full payment is required on check-in.

Located in the heart of Kent close to Maidstone at Junction 8 of the M20 the Mercure Maidstone Hotel is built around a Georgian county house surrounded by 26 acres adjacent to Leeds Castle Whether on business or pleasure there is something for everyone with extensive leisure conference meeting and event facilities with one of the largest event rooms in Kent. To make your journey easy there are excellent links with Europe and the Olympic Village via Eurostar. Ebbsfleet and Ashford International stations are within 30 minutes with the port of Dover being less than 40 minutes away.
