restaurant good very good , portions small .wine selection very good ,
good selection of restaurants close to hotel , and good value for money,
Lovely hotel comfortable atmosphere- have stayed there twice before, although one of the rooms offered this time was a little below parr (even though it was offered as a free "upgrade").
Restaurant food is to die for, but pricey. If you are in a hurry maybe best avoid, as there are numerous small interim tasters.
On the main pedestrianised area so most of Canterbury's attractions are within walking distance. Next door is the hotel pub which is less expensive and also does good food - attractive mix of old and new again, with log fires. Cathedral and precincts are also beautiful and not far to walk.
food and service exelent.room ok.
the town of canterbury
very good
tasting menu in restaurant exellent
booked for and confirmed for 2 days but only 1 was booked on our behalf by you therefore we had a little hassle . fortunately the hotel had space for the second night but i cant imagine what would have happened if they were full.
Room was a little small for the price we paid with very little room for clothes - however nice and clean
The hotel menu although looked like very little choice was superb.
The extra little courses not mentioned added to the experience. The only thing missing was extra people . I feel that the menu was not fully explained and that there are a lot of restraunts on the door step people didnt give the hotel a second glance.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean but nothing amazing. Breakfast is very enjoyable as in conjunction with a continental buffet, hot options are made to order which are fresh and less greasy than a cooked breakfast buffet. The hotel is right in the centre of Canterbury which is ideal for shopping and unloading bags and shopping some more. Car park is secure and reasonable at £5/night and the hotel are flexible with what time you vacate the car park on the day you check out.
Good standard of hotel in an excellent location with nice friendly staff.
We used to love the Brewery Tavern attached to the hotel but recently found it to deteriorate in quality while keeping the luxury price tag. Instead our favourite restaurants were all on the same street as the hotel: Prezzo (classy, well decorated Italian) , The Cuban (great Tapas and funky atmosphere) and Brasserie Gerard (lovely French restaurant with delicious steaks and very friendly staff)
excellent
advertised price £155, TR price £103
brilliant
Beautiful hotel at a very good price.
