The Hilton was a great hotel. I booked two rooms for myself and a friend, on entering the dinning room on the second morning we were informed only one of us had booked breakfast, despite us both having the same booking! After some debate my friend did have breakfast. But this was embarrassing for both of us.
This was the hotel's fault, not travel republic!!
“ Top Tip: Went to Cardiff for the International football. Hotel is 5 mins away from Cardiff stadium by cab. Ideal location.

“ We found it easy to get to from the M4 West. As we drove up to the entrance the consierge was there waiting to advice us on what to do and helped us with our luggage. The reception area was light and large, we first dealt with arrangements for the car and then signed in which was easy, gave details of debit card which was used for any extras occured and then were instructed on which floor and room number we had and how to get there. Our room was airy and clean with all that you would expect. We had a light snack in the bar which was fantastic more like a big lunch. We did have problem with the light in the bathroom and the tellyvision not working in the morning but a quick phone call to reception fixed this, it seems a trip switch had gone off. Breakfast following morning was great with all different choices to suit all. Staff were courtious, polite and friendly, overall our stay was great, thinking of going again in September.
“ Top Tip: Close to the hotel is the Cathays park with the Mueseum, library etc and ofcourse Cardiff Castle is just across the road with it's fantastic grounds and the history surrounding it. A visit to the Bay is a must if only to see the Welsh Government building. The main shopping area is just a street away with all the different shops that would keep all shopaholics happy for hours. We had a great day in Cardiff with all that is available.

After a long trip i had pre-requested a slightly early check in, and i mean slightly early, 40 mins. Sadly on arrival my room wasn't ready, neither was a friend's also staying there who tried checking in an hour later than the hotels check in time!
The check in lady could do nothing for me except offer me an upgraded rom for an extra £30 ! I declined and stood my ground. In the end a supervisor or manager came over and offered me the same upgrade for free. I wonder why i couldn't have just been offered this in the first place? it would have saved me and them 20 minuites and a lot of hassle and red faces.
Apart from this experience at check in i can't fault the hotel. All the staff were really helpful especially the concierge parking, it is in a prime location too. So close to the castle, shops pubs etc. Room was very clean and fresh and breakfast which i had in my room was really nice, great selection.
Having had a bad start to my hotel experience by the time i left i felt really happy with everything.
