“ Though the hotel was a little tired, down the corridors could have done with a lick of paint, we found the staff to be very helpful and when we had trouble getting into our room because of a faulty lock they gave us a coffee and biscuits while they sorted it out. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a nice meal at the hotel at night. A number of our family were booked in that weekend as we were going to a family reunion in Colchester and we were all pleased with our accommodation.
“ Top Tip: Our family reunion was held in The Cricketers pub where we had a buffet lunch and a very enjoyable experience.

“ On arrival the staff where very pleasant, informative and helpful! Our bags where taken to our room, which was a pleasant surprise! The manager came and spoke to us when we where having a drink in the bar and asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything. we told we where going out for the evening and he did say that if we needed a taxi they would organise it and our return back to the hotel! Before we went out for the evening reception rang through and asked if everything was ok with our room and if we required anything! Have to say our overall experience was a very pleasant one, and one that we will defiantly be repeating!!

“ I was really suprised with this hotel! The staff are genuine and will go out of their way to help and make your stay. The food in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner is delicious and other than the large menu there are lots of daily specials to choose from. My room was large and very clean. The huge flat screen TV with loads of movie options and games went down really well too! I would definately return to this hotel in the future as been a regular visitor to Colchester I would now say that this is the best hotel in Colchester by a mile.
“ Top Tip: Colchester town is only a few minutes away from the hotel. Close enough to commute in a few minutes but just far enough away to avoid the noise and hussle and bussle. There are some fantastic, deserted, sandy beaches just 15 minutes away from the hotel and the fabulous colchester zoo is just a 5 minute drive.
