The Metropole has the best views across the fishing harbour of Padstow and the camel Estuary. The hotel offers you the choice of a single room with Estuary views and a standard twin or double or either room type with an Estuary or Harbour view at an additional cost. The hotels AA rosette Restaurant offers excellent food and service and with a fantastic view of Padstow harbour across to Rock. Bookings are strongly recommended for dinner. In addition the Cafe Bar is open daily from 10am until 9pm with great views also and the hotel has two lounges for you to relax and unwind in. The hotel is fully non-smoking and all areas of the hotel offer free wireless broadband. Padstow has more in more recent times been put on the map by Rick Stein and his Seafood Restaurant is situated directly below the hotel with a special set of steps that goes between the hotel and Ricks Steins Restaurant. The Met is the ideal location to base yourself and to explore all the delights that Cornwall has to offer. Walk or cycle the Camel trail which starts at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. Enjoy a variety of golf courses all within easy drive of the hotel and do not forget to make time to visit The Eden Project Prideaux Place the Lost Gardens of Heligan Restormel Castle Lanhydrock House slightly further afield. Wine lovers will be delighted to find the Camel Valley Vineyard

“ Outdated and in desperate need of modernisation. The room was damp and uncomfortable, the bathroom has mould in places. The lift does not always work and needs replacing. We were really disappointed.

“ Fantastic Hotel. Staff were Top class. Hotel could do with a bit of a spruce up but didn't deter from the overall experience (threadbare carpets on the stairs etc). I would say the staff make the experience completely pleasurable and they were always smiling and very attentive. When in the terrace the sun was shining in and the staff came in closed the blinds for us and then came back later and readjusted them so that we could see out.
“ Top Tip: Go for a walk over to the war memorial and down to the beach early in the morning. We had a magical walk and the views were positively stunning with the tide going out and the sun rising it was absolutely breath taking. We spent about 1/2 hour just sat down looking at the views.

The hotel was comfortable, but dated and very tired.
Our room was classed as executive, and yet in my opinion was below average. The bed was made up with a sheet, a very old blanket and a washed out throw - dissappointing, as this was supposed to be a specialy romantic weekend.
The paintwork on the doors was worn and grubby.
The lamp had a blown bulb.
However breakfast was wonderfull, and I was impressed with the standard of food, and the staff were polite and helpfull.
Overall this hotel was very overpriced.
