The Macdonald Craxton Wood is a Tourist hotel. Located in City Centre area. Shopping is accessible by bus/taxi and the nightlife/restaurants are Coffee Shop the hotel.
In 27 acres of gardens and woodland, this hotel has free parking, free Wi-Fi and a luxury spa. With an award-winning restaurant and cocktail bar, the hotel is 15 minutes from Chester Racecourse. Rooms at Craxton Wood are elegantly decorated and offer walnut work desks and scenic views. All rooms have an en suite bathroom, satellite TV and tea and coffee facilities. The Garden Room Restaurant serves cooked breakfasts, light lunches and a creative evening menu. The Cocktail Bar offers afternoon teas and inventive cocktails, and there is also a poolside coffee bar.

    When I rang to query the room rating I said this was supposed to be a special treat.
    To cut a long story short, Nicola was excellent, and appeared to understand how upset and disappointed I was. Room changed and Nicola was 1st rate.
    Excellent breakfast.

    “ We were a party of three using three rooms, the reception staff were very helpful despite a busy input of visitors. The rooms were lovely and the hotel stood in wonderful gardens, we used the pool and had tea in the spa. Dinner and breakfast were of a very high standard, we will return in the future as we had a wonderful stay.

    “ Top Tip: The Boathouse in Parkgate is an exceptional eating place, the standard of food and menu are a delight matched by a perfect setting and atmosphere , you need to book in advance.
