“ The hotel was busy on our arrival but we were surprised to find that no bar facilities were avalable during the afternoon and they did not open until 18.00hrs (other than bottled beer in the Tea Shop). Overall the public rooms in the hotel were uncomfotably cold. This is a delightful facility set in dramatic countryside but suffered from a general lack of maintenance - for example the lighting in corridors to the rooms was limited to the somewhat inadequate emergency lighting system.

the first room we were allocated had an awful smell to it we think it had been flooded at some some stage and not dried out properly ther was no way i could have slept in there !!
The next room was ok a little jaded and the bathroom definitely needed a refurb the grouting looked like it had been done by an odd job man and the flooring tiles were stained/cracked and needed needed replacing, I felt sorry for anyone staying below because the floorboards creaked badly.
It took us about 15mins to locate the room because it was dark when we arrived the lighting over the room signs were not lit we and another twwo couples were out there wandering about!!!
Finally the the hairdryer in our room kept cutting out as soon as it got hot I had to wait for about 1/2hr to get a replacement Sorry I wo't be going back
