Plus points - fabulous heated outdoor pool. Great place to be when it's dark and cold. Friendly staff
Negatives - i'd expect a 5 star hotel to have free wifi and, considering how much we paid, not to charge £2.50 a night for parking.
Tip - the balcony windows suck heat out of the room, so learn how to turn the heating up in winter
“
Top Tip:
Raphael (French) restaurant - great meal
Jacobs Coffee shop, opposite the pump house - great scones (give starbucks etc a miss) and free wifi :-)
The Roman Baths - if you want to do it properly, you'll need more than 3 hours

The staff on reception, in the Dining room at breakfast and at Dinner were friendly welcoming and hgelpful. There was none of this oppressive formality you can find in some 5 star Hotels..The Hotel was grand, beautiful and welcoming. Our room was a Standard Classic. It was spacious and spotless. The bathroom was generous and decorated beautifully.
The breakfast was great from the Buffet to the full English. We had Dinner which arrived quickly and was hot, plus the food was very good indeed. The dining room is a splendid room but inkeeping with the Hotel, while Grand is not formal , stuffy or oppressive.
We used the gym and the Spa. The equipment is modern and includes free weights which is unusual but very welcome.
We plan to return in the summer to enjoy the gardens of the Hotel and strolling in Bath.
“ Top Tip: Real Ale Pub ..Green Tree.

“ Top Tip: Visited the Bath Christmas market whilst there. Some lovely gift ideas, but extremely busy as the weekend.

Beautiful hotel and grounds.
Bathrooms could use refurbishment. Very moldy (I have mold allergies which were bad during my stay).
Our room was placed in the garden level, close to the spa, and there was some plant that kept turning on and off all night long, so it was hard to sleep due to the noise. That is something unacceptable in a hotel of this level.

“ Not cheap, but you're paying for the location. Right in the centre of the city and a two minute walk to the Abbey. Excellent breakfast. Be prepared for a bit of a squash if you book a standard room, especially if need an extra bed in it!

“ This is by no means a 4 star hotel. It is a conference centre with bedrooms let out to private guests when available. Room is adequate, but heating arrangements are primitive, TV is tiny, only one chair in the room, no lift, very ordinary breakfast, a long way from the centre of bath - further than their web site says etc etc. A very disappointing stay

“ Pleasantly Surprised! Our expectations were not high but we could not fault it. Room was warm (coldest night of the winter this year), breakfast more than adequate and evening meal excellent. Would certainly go again and recommend to our friends. Lovely picturesque views of river. Easy to get into Bath on bus from top of road (free for over 60s).
