Pontins - Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park

Prestatyn

 2 Star Hotel

Customer rating from 3 reviews: 5.5 Average

Prestatyn Sands nestles between the rolling hills of Wales and miles of award winning beaches. A holiday here gives you the best of both worlds to combine as your fancy takes you – relaxing in beautiful scenery and enjoying bags of fun activities throughout the day. As well as a choice of three stunning beaches there is plenty to see and do from the majestic Conwy Castle to the Historic City of Chester for a bit of retail therapy. For the more adventurous a climb up Snowdon could be your holiday challenge although we prefer to take the train! Pontins Prestatyn Sands is perfect for younger families with stacks to keep the smallest (and noisiest) members of the family busy. Kids activities are all provided by qualified staff, so you can relax as they whizz around Captain Croc’s Driving School or even have a go at Bungee Trampolining.

Only basic equipment in chalet. Entertainment in the evening was mostly quizzes until gone 10:30pm.

Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel

Kinmel

 3 Star Hotel

Customer rating from 1 reviews: 10.0 Spectacular

Set in 200 acres of parkland with breathtaking views of the Clwydian Hills and the mountains of Snowdonia less than an hour away the Grade II listed Bodelwyddan Castle offers an experience that's truly unforgettable. Its ivy clad turrets commanding hilltop position and sense of solid indomitability at first suggest a medieval stronghold. Yet the history of Bodelwyddan is altogether more benign. For it was the intention of the Victorians in 1830 not to raise a fortress but to display a family's wealth as visibly and romantically as possible. And you're part of a fairytale from the moment you cross Bodelwyddan's Gothic threshold. Look out for the Jacobean-style staircase the medieval weaponry in the entrance hall the sculpture gallery with its stunning vaulted ceiling and the original marble chimneypiece dating from 1700. Fairytale Bodelwyddan Castle is packed with things to do it's attached to the National Portrait Gallery's inventive museum the Victorian Collection. There is croquet and other indoor and...

An above average b&b, with attention to the little details, from the bone china crockery in your room, to the incredibly personable owners Sara and Patrick. Even though it is close to the A55 it is a mini oasis of calm. Really enjoyed my stay here. It is off the beaten track so you should expect to drive or get a taxi (5 mins to St. Asaph's).
