“ We checked out straight away! the room was dated and tired, the curtain had a hole in it and also a large tear. The chair had stains and the bed! The bath was dirty! totally yuck and not somewhere I would want to stay. The outside and the grounds were amazing but that is as far as it goes... The food was boring and the wine list dire! Two choices of wine were out of stock. All surrounding tables were completely about various issues and seemed like the restaurant was unliked by all that dined there.

My Barclaycard was swipped when I booked in. Very normal, so far so good. The next day I found I had been charged £1450!!!!!!!!!! for a basic double room, as well as £145 which was the orginal cost. Only an alert for the Barclaycard fraud team raised my concern. It took 26 minutes to find the manager and his attitude was poor. The hotel were clearly aware of the error, but had failed to refund the money or inform me of the problem. They did eventually refund my money and reduce my bill by 50%.
For a quality hotel, I was dissappointed. This incident spoilt my stay.
Never the less, I will use them again in the hope that they get it right next time!
