Holiday Inn Edinburgh

“ We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, we arrived really early in the morning in order to be at the front of the queue for tickets to see the Pandas at Edinburgh Zoo, which the hotel is right next to.

I went to the hotel at 8am to check in not expecting to be allocated our room. The receptionist offered to check and see if the room was available; it was, so we were able to get access to the accommodation right away.

The receptionist was very helpful and advised on booking a session for later in the evening at the swimming pool as it was a holiday weekend and might be busy.

The only complaint I have is on the restaurant prices, the main meal Carvery Buffet was affordably priced, but as the sweet selection was limited we elected to have some ice-cream.

This was priced at circa £7 for three scoops. A glass of wine was more than £8. I though this was excessive and really bumped up the overall price of a meal which we though was going to be reasonably priced.

This is the only complaint I would have about my stay in this hotel and would definitely consider staying here again.

Breakfast is chaos, there is probably more organised feeding time at the Zoo next door.
We experienced tables full of dirty dishes, shortages of food on buffet stations, no glasses for drinks, dirty crockery and cutlery and a shortage of staff.
We did get free passes to the Zoo and a slot to see the Pandas as result of this and the duty manager was very nice and apologetic about the problems we experienced.

“ Top Tip: Edinburgh has loads of attractions to see and lots of places to eat and drink. Explore the city good bus service.

“ Lovely hotel. Nice, clean bedroom. Fantastic breakfast, lots to choose from and all good quality. Dinner was good too. All staff efficient and helpful.

“ Top Tip: Visited Edinburgh zoo. Although the weather was bad it was well worth the visit.
