“ Food, service & ambience excellent. shortly after booking in (14.30)we discovered only 1 small uplighter worked in the bathroom. this I reported within the hour and again 2 hours later and found it was not logged as a fault at reception. When we booked out next day I mentioned that I was unhappy at having to shave & shower in very poor light. Reply was that the hotel had run out of light bulbs and that they were very sorry! My reply was that, that was not good enough for a city centre hotel. Will be using other hotels in Edinburgh in the future.

“ Old property , decent looking bedrooms. Room sit over the pub and restaurant downstairs, so noise can be an issue if ur room overlooks the parking area. Parking is free which is a big plus, good bus services into town. Buffet english breakfast included in the fare.
“ Top Tip: Easiest way to travel into town is through bus, the bus station just outside the hotel.

“ very good breakfast we stayed in the lodge 2 doors away , even though it had been renovated it needed alot more doing to it and was dated , most of all it needed d/glazing to keep the niose out.

“ A great, good value hotel, with easy access to the city centre using Edinburgh's fantastic bus service. The standard double room we had was clean, spacious and lovely organic products in the bathroom! Breakfast was excellent with a self-service buffet...it is worth getting there early as service for coffee and toast suffers when the dining area is full. We would stay here again without question.
“ Top Tip: Check out St Stephens street for some little gems in terms of restaurants (all in basements of Georgian houses!)- a short walk north from Princes Street (not suitable for heels!). The Blue Parrot Cantina is a great, cosy, inexpensive mexican if you are looking for a quiet, intimate feel to your evening. The castle is a must, with very high quality exhibitions. Use the buses, great value for money and they run all night. Climb up Scott's monument for a great view and don't forget to check out the mysterious underground world of the city!

On arrival we were upgraded to an Executive suite which was truly amazing. The room was beautifully decorated and large and the huge bathroom was fantastic.
This is a hotel we would definitely stay at again.

The Haymarket is a very centraly situated privately owned hotel where the emphasis is quality accommodation, excellent service, good food and friendly helpful attentive staff. There are 25 fully en-suite, well equiped comfortable bedrooms, a city bar and comfortable lounge bar, there is a big screen where major sporting events can be viewed.FREE WI FI,FREE USE OF COMPUTER IN BAR. A full refurbishment of bars and bedrooms has just been completed.
