“ We really enjoyed our stay at the Point Hotel. It was ideally located - 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Royal Mile. When we arrived, check-in was very quick and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they gave us a map of the city. The room was a good size (we had booked a twin room) - it had a sofa, TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Whilst the decor on the ground floor is very modern, the upper floors, including our room, are in need of updating, but I understand that plans for this are underway. Decor aside, the room and en suite bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was excellent - a wide range of continental and cooked items, cereals, juices, fresh coffee etc. There was plenty to choose from and the food was really good. Breakfast was served until 11am at the weekend. There was a late check-out time of 12 o'clock, which was nice as we didn't have to rush to vacate the room after breakfast. On check-out, our flight wasn't for several hours and the hotel kept our bags for us behind the reception desk. Many people had taken advantage of this service and it was well managed with a ticket system for each suitcase. The reception staff also called us a taxi to take us back to the airport. All in all, a very efficiently run hotel, with friendly staff. Would definitely visit this hotel again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

“
i thought the hotel was very good value for money.i paid about £70 for a double with superior views breakfast inc.,for myself and my wife.
the room was large with a massive comfy bed ,wardrobe sideboard and chairs.
the view of the castle was really impressive.
the bathroom though not the largest had all you need ,but could do with a bit of tlc around bath.
i had no problems with room at all but my wife found the room not bright enough as no ceiling lights for putting her war paint on .
breakfast was really tasty and a plentiful choice.
the hotel is positioned near the grassmere district so everything you could want is close at hand .
on returning home realised i,d left keys in hotel and with one call and two days later my keys arrived free of charge.
all in all a great value for money hotel & one i would return back to.
“ Top Tip: come out of the hotel door turn left (cant remember name of pub) the next building is a large pub.cheapest pint i bought in edinburgh and very decent food and a great price.

“ Breakfast was too much of a do it yourself arrangement and was difficult to get everything hot at the one time.
