After a bit of a wild goose chase we found the hotel. Our booking form stated it was the Ramada hotel which we since found out had only recently been taken over by the Mercure groupso the sinage had been confusing. It was obvious that renovation work was due and apparent but this in now way spoilt our stay. The hotel is in a perfect position right on Princes street with everything accessible. Staff very courteous.Room, although actually a room equipped for people with a disability was large airy and very comfortable with a bay window overlooking the gardens and Princes street. Tv hairdryer etc and a sofa convenienty situated in the bay window. Good range of breakfast and the food was piping hot and delicious we especially loved the Hash browns!! would certainly come again

Top Tip: Great indian restaurant/takeaway behind hotel , just of the 'square' called Zest. All bar one in George street great for lunch and Ryans bar although very busy with sports fans watching tv at the time, very friendly and served excellent chilled Rose Pinot Gricio for £15 What looked like an excellent cellar restaurant although we didnt try it onthis occasion
