Check-in date:

Only a 5 minute drive to city centre. In a quiet part of the city. Beautiful garden and lawns to relax in. It has ample car parking which saves you money because the city hotels have limited parking which can be costly. The staff were very polite and helpful, with a smile on their face. I only stayed B&B and the breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and enough for even the largest appetites.
I highly recommend Buckerell Lodge and I will definitely stay there next time I visit Exeter.

Top Tip: Only a 5 minute drive to the city with a great selection of restaurants and pubs.
I recommend the Thai, Portuguese and Chinese buffet.

Check-in date:

The hotel was very good and the breakfasts were well cooked and presented. The staff were also helpful and pleasant. The only thing that we didn't like was the fact that it was just too hot in the newer part of the hotel where our room was.

Check-in date:

Nothing was to much trouble for most of the staff. A couple of them could do with a little more customer care, young lady on reception when we checked out if she could at least smile would be an improvement, and same would go for a gentleman in the restaurant who i think may be a manager who should know better. But we can not fault anything food was lovely though a little pricey for bar meals, but always nice and hot. Breakfast the same cooked nicely and so much to choose from. Rooms always nice and clean(even though i nearly gave the cleaner a heart attack when i walked in while cleaning!!!) but she was extremely friendly and polite.

Top Tip: A lovely walk by the river into the city, about 10 mins walk from the hotel takes about 20/30 mins into city but well worth it

Most recent booking for this hotel was 07/02/2012 at 18:28

Bovey Castle sits majestically high on the edge of the valley overlooking all that surrounds her. Below the beautifully restored Edwardian gardens the championship golf course meanders along the valley and the burbling River Bovey sparkles and glistens as it makes its way down from the high moor. On the opposite side of the valley beyond the woods Easdon Tor stands imperiously glinting in the morning sunshine a part of this ancient landscape since time began and today perhaps England's last true wilderness. Dartmoor is truly a magical place and Bovey Castle the jewel in its crown. Every advantage has been taken of its unique setting to create a truly special resort. There is a vast array of activities available for young and old alike so there will never be a time when you have nothing to do unless of course that is what you want. The Hotel has been awarded the 2010-11 Large Hotel of the Year at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and is also proud to feature in the 2011 Conde Nast Traveller Gold...
