The same description could easily be applied to The Rougemont Hotel, an elegant Victorian hotel situated close to the mainline Exeter railway station. The Rougemont is one of the few conveniently located Exeter hotels. The nearby Exeter city centre, with its fine shopping and many ancient buildings, including its Roman walls and 12th Century Cathedral, is a short walk away.
We have 98 bedrooms and Suites, the majority of which are newly refurbished. We also have a newly refurbished restaurant and 10 meeting rooms. “ Beautiful building and great location but no hot water first morning. Also we ate in the restaurant and service was ridiculously slow (over an hour), but they did give us some free drinks. Everyone seemed happy with their food, but I had lemon sole, and the chef hadn't gutted it! It didn't matter to me as I can do that, but it is a basic mistake that would make someone fail the first round of amateur masterchef!

“ I used this hotel for a one night stay in the city. We went for shopping and a night on the town, it's location was perfect as we were close to everything! The hotel was lovely, the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and all staff were helpful and pleasant! I would reccomend this hotel to a friend and intend to stay again.

“ Fantastic service with great food. Located in the city centre with amazing view over the valley and promoxity to shops and restaurant, the rooms are quiet and clean. Highly recommended.
“ Top Tip: Parking in hotel is safe and at reasonable price or arrive by train in Central Station is very convenient.
