The Alexander Thomson Hotel is historic Victorian era building which forms the Architectural landscape of the city. The Hotel has very high ceilings and very high windows from that era and every effort is put in to retain as much originality as possible. Most Rooms are quite large and so are the Bathrooms. The Rooms are recently refurbished and have all the basic amenities required by a business traveler or a tourist. NEW: Free wifi access in all Rooms. Traditional Scottish Breakfast is included in the price and there is a Bar which opens till the wee hours of the morning only for the Hotel Guests. There is a very quite lounge for people to sit and relax which also has a free wi fi internet access for the residents only. Come and enjoy the beautiful city and our warm and friendly service. Enjoyed our stay, very near to all amenities, nice hotel room on 5th floor so no problem with any noise.
Breakfast was good, buffet style with plenty to choose from.
Only minor problem was with toast and tea making facilities were queueing was unfortunate.
