The staff were not very welcoming at reception and we only stayed one night and not two as booked.

I had asked for a twin room for myself and my daughter, unfortunately this had not been noted, we were eventuallygiven a single room and a double room on different floors eventually when I questioned why we had not

After reading other reports on the Web, I was concerned about my stay. When I first arrived, another group were checking in but the Hotel didnt have their booking as it was made through the internet...first warning sign.
General poor state of repair in the hotel, carpets old and worn, bannister held together in places with industrial strips. The room was a single one but quite small, it was however clean. I wouldn't want to spend much time in the room but perfect for a 1 night stay for a concert at Hampden(15 minutes walk) The bar only opened at 6 and was shut at 11 and about as welcoming as a trip to the dentist. Breakfast was a joke, 2 waitresses, none of them had a clue. The food trays were all empty of hot foods and when they were rarely replenished with a plate of bacon or a sauasge, these were devoured instantly. Coffee was instant and the toast was almost inedible. The staff were however friendly which considering the Hotel chain has gone into receivership, is a surprise. All in all, OK for 1 night but perhaps have breakfast elsewhere!

Top Tip: Out of the hotel, turn left and left again. Just past the Oddbins is a nice Deli. Queens park opposite the hotel is nice to relax in.

My small single room was incredibly hot even with the radiator turned off due to an old fashioned central heating system which involved a large cast iron pipe running around the room supplying the hot water to the radiators.
I could not keep the windows open because of the blinds.
It was quite a cold evening when I stayed and I still could not sleep because of the intense heat. I could not imagine how hot it would have been if the evening had been warmer!
